Don’t deal with Popeyes. Period.
I have been dealing with customer service for just under 48 hours with no success.
At approximately 12:30 AM on April 16, 2026, I tried placing an order on the Popeyes app but with the assistance of the drive-thru window employee, as I kept getting a message that an item in my app cart was not available, but we couldn't figure out what item it was as the employee looked over the items in the cart on the app and said they had everything. Finally, I figured out it was the apple pies. I deleted them and tried processing payment but got an error card message. I checked the card details and tried again. Same error message. So, I switched from my Scotia Bank card to my CIBC card. Same error message.
I checked my banking and almost died. $125.85 went through and was deducted from my Scotia Bank card twice, and $125.85 was deducted from my CIBC. When I showed both the employee and the manager, their solution was to just place the order with them, which they said they couldn't give the discounts I was getting in the app. I asked for my money back. They told me to contact customer service. Popeyes customer service is an AI chatbot with no real person ever responding to the complaint I lodged three times. It just says it's connecting you with a live person but disconnects you.
Now it's the 17th with no reimbursement of the $377.55 they stole from me and no record of an order.
Now I've called the police. I'm done. I will NEVER order from Popeyes as all they do is steal and cause monetary issues for their customers.

Hello, on the 13th of March I ordered a pickup at 181 Eglinton Ave E, Toronto, ON M4P 1J4, Popeyes location. It charged me 3 times, but I didn't get my food. Please solve this issue.

- A chicken wrap was added to my order without consent; head office only emails, no calls.
I played an order through the app but when I picked up my order the girl behind the counter said she would give me the spicy sauce in a larger container instead of the small ones. I didnt know I was already charged for it.
Also a chicken wrap was added to my order but I didnt order it. The Popeyes location at [STREET_ADDRESS] is just ripping off customers. They charge for a 7 oz sauce but they put it in a very small container thats not even 3 oz. They put 2 side dishes into a small container at the same time do they dont have to give you as much food.
What they are doing is wrong. Dont go to this location. Im not going to this location anymore. I texted head office and asked for a person to call me back, but they only email you.
No one will actually call you. They dont do anything about the complaints from customers.
Nothing changes. They really dont care about customers.

So I visited the store at 2234 Feb 3, there was one indian girl working. i ordered onion rings large, I asked for signature sauce, which is customary, every Popeyes give free, so I asked for another one - she charged me 82 cents, she gave me 2 more, then I said you charged me 82 cents, I said you charged me for 2, I asked for 1.
For which I asked refund, then she denied me for refund said it's only 40 cents, I said still it's money.
Then she gave me some coins, didn't return money in Original payment method which was debit.
Then she was giving me bad attitude that she doesn't own this store and I should leave the store, I was entirely time respectful and this is what I get.
Anyway this information is for potential customers who would buy from this store.
So I request management please get people who have customer service etiquettes.
I work in service industry too, this is very bad outlook.
The fun parts starts here, when I was writing this review in store, girls were talking in Panjabi which I am fortunate to understand, they were using profane language in their own language, I ignored it.
After that I left the coin and sauces on the table and I threw the coin off table where the same lady shouted also throw the food here, which I did, I threw the food, it costed me 8.80, so how Popeye's gonna refund me this wasted money + my 80 cents. Hopefully there shall be resolution or I shall make sure to give this piece of story to my friends in media.

Very disappointing
- App accepted an order from a closed restaurant during renovations, wasting time and gas.
- Refund would take days and no compensation was offered.
I had a very disappointing experience. I placed an order through the app, and it was accepted even though the restaurant was closed for renovations.
I only found out after driving there and wasting my time and gas.
To make matters worse, the order could not be transferred to another nearby restaurant, leaving me with no solution after the inconvenience.
On top of that, I was told I would have to wait days for a refund, and despite the time wasted, unnecessary trip, and frustration caused by an error on the companys end, no compensation of any kind was offered.
It is unacceptable for the app to allow orders from a closed location, and even more disappointing that customer service made no effort to make things right. The entire experience was inconvenient, frustrating, and very disappointing.

You need to call your bank. There is an intermediary processor between the retailer and your bank.
This processor denied Popeyes but let the transaction continue on to your bank. Popeye’s has nothing to do with it.
The processor is part of Visa/MC/other card network. Your bank will know how to handle this.
I already did. CIBC won’t do anything for 15 days to allow Popeyes the “opportunity to return the funds”.
If it’s not returned, I am to call back and they will then launch a fraud investigation into the matter.
Scotia Bank cancelled my card and launched a fraud investigation into the 2 charges which them. Popeyes will do nothing except tell me the funds should be returned in 2-3 business days.
